The speakers will be:
Randy Snow won 10 US Open singles titles, was the first Masters and ITF World Champion and won both the singles and doubles gold medals at the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona, Spain. He played for the United States 9 times in World Team Cup competitions, winning 8 times. He started the wheelchair tennis camp series in the United States conducting over 100 camps, wrote four books and he served as the Vice Chair for the USTA Wheelchair Committee. In 2004 he was the first Paralympian inducted into the USA Olympic Hall of Fame.
Dan James is the National Manager and National Head Coach for Wheelchair Tennis with the USTA. He has coached at three Paralympic Games (Sydney, Athens, and Beijing), the Parapan American Games, and eleven World Team Cups. His teams have amassed eleven individual medals including five gold medals. Dan is the key contributor and editor of the new USTA Wheelchair Tennis Manual and Drills book and the voice of the USTA Wheelchair Tennis DVD. He resides in Oakdale, MN.
This first part of a series of webinars on wheelchair tennis will cover the essential tools needed to start and sustain a local wheelchair tennis program. Facilities, players, coaches, and organizers are all pieces of this puzzle that enhance a community’s relationship with wheelchair tennis that sparks the social integration wheelchair tennis provides.
