The University of Illinois at Chicago is looking for health and fitness professionals who are employed at a fitness/recreation facility to complete an accessibility survey on their facility as a part of a national study.  Facility staffs who participate in the study will have the option to receive feedback and advice on ways to further improve the accessibility of their facility.

The purpose of the study is to gain an understanding of the current level of accessibility of fitness and recreation centers nationwide.  As a part of the study, participants (health and fitness professionals) will receive support in completing the AIMFREE instrument as well as feedback on how to improve the accessibility of their facility, if desired.

You can then return the informed consent by faxing it to 312-355-4058 or by mailing it to NCPAD, 1640 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago, IL 60608. Any information you share with us will be kept completely confidential.

This study is being conducted by staff at The Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Recreational Technologies and Exercise Physiology Benefiting Individuals With Disabilities (RERC RecTech) at University of Illinois-Chicago, Research Protocol # 2008-1102. RERC Rectech is a five-year grant funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) of the US Department of Education.
